My reference image was:
I used a lot of different color manipulators, since that it was I might focus on for the actual project. First, I changed the color of the petals with the "color" blend option with the brush tool and made the flower so that it looked "dipped" in gold. I then made the background into a greenish gradient so the flower felt like it was in a more natural environment (a blue background felt weird to me). Then, I threw a cool filter on it so that it looked like a sort of sketch, and finally copied and pasted several around the image giving each new flower a different hue and saturation value. Overall, I think it turned out cool.
